What to Know

Precautions

Patients with pacemakers/defibrillators will NOT be scanned at this facility due to lack of resources. Please clear electronic implants and aneurysm clips with the technologist prior to scheduling your exam. It is helpful to send an implant card for us to review prior to your appointment. Most non electronic orthopedic implants are allowed into the scanner.

Exam Preparation

Generally there is no preparation for the MRI exam. Eat, drink and take medications as usual. It is advised that you wear comfortable clothing with as little metal as possible. Patient gowns and scrub shorts are provided if needed. Leave all valuables including jewelry at home. Lockers are provided prior to your exam for any personal belongings.
